My favourite film star
Teaching aims:
(1) To talk about your favourite stars.
(2) To learn how to write an article of your favourite star.
(3) To find the secrets of being successful from these stars.
Teaching procedures:
Pre-task:
Warm-up:
1. Introduce the teacher’s favorite film star---Audrey Hepburn.
2. Review some information about Audrey Hepburn and lead in some key sentence patterns for the writing.
While-task:
I. Make an outline
1. Present Jackie Chan’s profile and learn how to make an outline for the article.
2. Ask Ss to show and discuss their favorite film star.
II. Article structure
1. Finish Part B and underline the other key sentence patterns in the books.
2. Work out the main idea of each paragraph.
3. Analyze the structure of the whole article.
Post-task:
1. Write an article of the favourite star.
2. Mark your partner’s article and give the right points with the help of the writing standards.
Homework
1. Remember the importance of this lesson
2. Finish your composition.
3. Review Unit7.
