　　In this competitive world, sometimes you may wish you could stop time and go back to the past. I, as a graduate student working in a large company, have always found life tough, and wish I could go back to my childhood when life was pink and full of happiness.
　　
　　I would want to go back to my childhood to enjoy my happy and carefree time, because competition all through my life has burdened me so much that I really look forward to some rest. Needless to say, childhood, when no bosses, work, or salaries exist, provides us with an environment free from all stress, competition and responsibility in life. When I am reminded of my childhood, what immediately comes into mind are the games with friends, my parents’ efforts to give me the best things and our funny and carefree dreams of being famous rock stars, actors, doctors, and teachers. It might be worthwhile to enjoy all this pure pleasure again in life from time to time.
　　
　　The chance of returning to childhood would also enable us to correct the mistakes commonly made then. I will never forget the days in my childhood when I was six years old and my family was quite poor. I saw a beautiful but expensive doll quite like my friend’s. I liked it, and wanted to have one, but my mother could not afford it. When she said sorry, I cried loudly and said: “I hate you, mom!” You can imagine how hurt my mother was by this sudden outburst and the feeling that she could not give me everything I needed. I really regret this even now. If I could turn back time I would fix this fault in my childhood and say: “I love you, mom.”
　　
　　I would like to go back to my childhood to express thanks to my beloved parents for their everlasting generous love for me. After so many years of struggling in school and business, I can now understand how precious this love is. I wish to turn back to the past and reciprocate all the love they gave me.
　　
　　Going back to the past is an unreal dream but we have the right to imagine it. If I could stop time and fly through it, I would return to my childhood to enjoy the peaceful days, and to remedy the irrational actions by which I once made those that I loved sad.
