If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, but make allowance for their doubting
too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
or, being hated, don't give way to hating, and yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise.
If you can dream——and not make dreams your master; If you can think——and not make
thoughts your aim; If you can meet with triumph and disaster and treat those two impostors1
just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken twisted by knaves2 to make a
trap for fools, or watch the things you gave your life to broken, and stoop3 and build'em
up with worn-out tools.
If you can make one heap of all your winnings and risk it on one turn of pitch-and-
toss, and lose, and start again at your beginnings, and never breathe a word about your
loss; if you can force your heart and nerve and sinew to serve your turn long after they
are gone, and so hold on when there is nothing in you except the will which says to them:
"Hold on !"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, or walk with Kings -- nor lose the
common touch; if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; if all men count with you,
but none too much; if you can fill the unforgiving minute with sixty seconds "worth of
distance run". Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, and——which is more ——
you'll be a Man, my son!
假如一切人都失掉沉着，诅咒你，你仍能坚持头脑清醒；假如一切人都置疑你，你仍能深信自己，

自豪和波折，把两者当骗子看待；假如你能忍耐你曾讲过的现实被恶棍歪曲，用于欺骗傻子，或许，看
着你用一生去关照的东西被损坏，俯下身去，用寒酸的东西把它修补。
假如在你赢得很多桂冠之后，然后背注一掷再博一次，失利往后，重整旗鼓，不要诉苦你的失利；
假如你能迫使自己，在他人走后，持久坚守阵地，在你心中已空空荡荡无一物，只要毅力告知你“坚持
”。
假如你与人攀谈，能坚持风姿，伴王同行，能坚持间隔；假如仇人和好友都不害你；假如一切人都
盼望你，却无人一心一意；假如你花六十秒进行短程跑，填满那不行宽恕的一分钟——你就可以具有一
个国际，这个国际的一切都是你的，更重要的是，孩子，你是个顶天立地的人。
