Teaching content: Comic strip, Welcome to the unit and Vocabulary

Teaching aims:

1. To talk about some teenage problems.

2. To think about what problems the students have and try to solve the problems.

Important & difficult points:

1. New words:      disturbs  mad  communication  teenage.

2. Useful phrases:   get fat    try more exercise     feel tired  

drive me mad    feel lonely

3. important sentence: it’s unhealthy for you to eat too much.

Teaching procedures:

Activity One  Comic strip

Step One  Lead in

talk about teachers’ problems

Step Two  Listen and answer.

           Questions: 1.What’s Eddie’s problem? 

2.What advice does Hobo give to him?

                   3.What will happen to Hobo’s food then?

Step Three  Read after the tape and act it out.

Activity Two welcome to the unit

Step One  talked about our friends who meet with some teenage problems

          Talk about the six pictures. Discuss in groups. fill in the blanks.

          What problems do they have?

Step Two  1. It’s your turn to talk about your problems. Have a competition

          2.Next, please work in groups of four.

One student tells problems. The other three give advice.

Then another student tells problems. The other three give advice.

At last, a reporter comes to the front. 

Activity Three   

Step One   Discuss who you would like to tell about your problems.

Step Two   Discuss in group.

            If you don’t want others to know who you are, how can you get suggestions(主张)?

            Draw a conclusion: Where there is a problem, there is a way!
